The East is still running around 810 cfs right now and of course is very difficult to fish. We have talked to a couple guides who have been fishing down there on their own and have been able to get into some pretty nice fish with both nymphs and streamers. The key is to fish the softer water, seams and undercut banks. Wading is somewhat dangerous but there is some water that you can fish from the bank, be very careful if you venture into the water. Heavy leaders and tippets are in order for both streamers and nymphs. Some patterns that have been successful include stoneflies, hare’s ears, caddis nymphs, zuddlers, zonkers and double bunnies.
